GDriveUpload

A private Google Drive synchronisation application operated by Henrik Binggl.

Purpose of this application

GDriveUpload is a private, personal application whose sole purpose is to synchronise the owner's own Google Drive files to his own private storage. It signs the owner in with Google using OAuth 2.0, reads the files in his Google Drive, and copies selected folders to a local server the owner controls (using the rclone tool).

GDriveUpload is used exclusively by its owner and his single Google account. It is not offered to the public, has no other users, is not commercial, and does not display advertising. It accesses only the owner's own account data and shares that data with no one.

What GDriveUpload does, step by step

  • Authenticates the owner with Google using OAuth 2.0.
  • Reads the file and folder list from the owner's own Google Drive.
  • Downloads and synchronises selected folders to the owner's own private storage via rclone.
  • Keeps the local copy up to date on a schedule for personal backup purposes.
